Configure, administer, maintain and support an array of Enterprise Microsoft SQL Servers in production, test and dev environment that serve OLTP and OLAP applications. The occupant of this position would also work on developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of corporate databases. Job Duties include but are not limited to: -Architect and implement enterprise database systems, including the support of advanced configurations such as clustering and replication. -Enforce the company’s database policies and procedures. -Maintain enterprise databases and database servers in production, test and development environments -Monitor database performance and tune database management system as necessary -Work closely with system administrators during software installation and upgrades on Microsoft SQL Server -Ensure availability of databases in accordance with service level agreements -Correct problems in databases promptly and accurately -Review, validate, and deploy database update during applications rollout to production environment -Offer assistance to developers in tuning database queries under development -Support developers when they need to troubleshoot application issues that might be related to database backend Job Requirements Experience/Education -3+ years of devoted experience with designing, developing, configuring and maintaining MS SQL Server and databases. -Extensive expertise in: -Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 Enterprise Edition -Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 Enterprise Edition -Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment -Extensive experience and knowledge of database security architecture, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery processes and procedures. -Proven experience with complex database systems migration, consolidation, and integration. -Skilled with hands-on Transact-SQL programming for extensive querying and data manipulation. -BS degree in CS, MIS or a related field -MCDBA certified a plus The incumbent will be “on-call” 24 x 7 for emergencies and may be required to work after hours to accomplish operational goals so as to minimize disruption to the core business during regular hours Other Skills Requirements -A minimum level 6 in CET Examination. -Excellent analytical skills -Strong teamwork abilities -Adaptive to a dynamic work environment -Strong self-initiative and accountability -Excellent written and verbal communication |
