Department Description The Supply Chain N&E NPI team partners with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to co-develop Network and Enterprise products, build prototypes, deliver technologies, develop Suppliers, and transfer product/process recipes to high volume manufacturing. The China NPI team is primarily responsible for insuring Design for Manufacturability (DFm) concepts are incorporated throughout the entire Product and Supplier development process.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations Partner proactively with Design teams and high volume Manufacturing teams to identify and resolve issues to meet product performance and delivery goals. Support proto builds, analyze defects, and derive issues corrective action plans. Develop and implement strategic initiatives such as overall assembly part count reduction, assembly time reduction. Drive product improvements, cost reductions, quality improvements, and manufacturability improvements on the latest cellular products. Work with Suppliers to support issues resolution and Supplier readiness. Transfer product and strategic initiatives to high volume cellular phone manufacturing and distribution sites. Must be self motivated, flexible, and willing to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a global cross-functional team member. Travel required to support product proto builds and Supplier issues.
Requirement:
B.S degree, or higher, in Mechanical Engineering, plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in a network infrastructure environment. Strong technical skills and knowledge of manufacturing/prototype process, materials selection. Supplier capabilities and Supplier processes. Experience in new product launch and high volume manufacturing. Familiar with Mechanical product performance requirements for manufacturing, reliability, and field performance and service. Strong understanding of 6 Sigma statistical analysis methods and tools, a 6 Sigma Blackbelt preferred. Demonstrate strong English written and oral communication skills. Must be capable of preparing and presenting technical summaries to all program cross functional teams.
