Description: As part of Developer Technical Services team you will you will provide assistance to Motorola‘s 3rd Party Developer community. You will be responsible for ensuring that support cases are of sufficient detail and contain accurate information. You will be expected to perform research against known issues from within the Engineering Knowledge Base. In addition, you will be expected to perform source code analysis and provide workarounds or information pertaining to the problem. If required escalating to contact points (Level 3) in the product teams towards resolution or submission of platform bugs. This may also involve participation in conference calls with the product engineering teams to highlight the importance and impact to the Developer community worldwide. It is imperative that, if found, any high impact issues to the platform or success of the platform in the marketplace are identified and given the appropriate priority by you. To improve support you are required to update the Knowledgebase articles to the support system with regards to Symbian or Technologies for the platform. It is also important that as the focal point for Symbian platform content and Development support, you will also be required to support our forum activities for the developer program. You are also required, if instructed by the Regional Developer Support Manager, to attend engineering conference calls and participate in cross platform initiatives. This could include planning for software tools, sharing of product knowledge or providing awareness of regional developer needs to the group. It is also expected you will produce Technical Reports/Papers for the inclusion in Global Developer newsletters when required. You will also, on occasions be expected to attend developer events to support the platform with other Motorola personnel. Requirement: 1. Knowledge of Symbian and UIQ concepts and practices. 2. Industry Experience in Code Development (C/C++) either commercial or internal development required. 3. Experience in Technical Support environment required. 4. Knowledge of current Mobile Industry desirable. 5. Education in Computer Science critical. 6. Exposure to Symbian and UIQ Application Development Tools 7. Has an interest in Mobile Devices and Gaming in general. 8. Is highly proficient in both written and spoken English. 9. Has a flexible, proactive approach to tasks. 10. Self motivated to completing tasks set. 11. Completed Higher Education, Higher Diploma or Equivalent Job Type; Software Engineer |
