ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES: The Renewable Energy Policy Analyst - China is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the renewable energy legislation and regulations in China for the Renewable Energy (Wind & Solar) and Jenbacher businesses. This activity will include federal/national and state/provincial legislation and regulations throughout the region.
Essential Responsibilities
Become GE‘s Renewable Energy & Jenbacher expert on current and pending legislation and regulations in China.
Recommend the position that the Renewable Energy & Jenbacher Businesses should take on various policies.
Develop and maintain industry and government contacts; influence policies as they are developed.
Determine how pending legislation & regulations could impact GE Energy‘s Renewable and Jenbacher businesses.
Recommend how GE Energy can grow revenue and margins most effectively based on policies.
Act as main point of contact for government agencies.
Work closely with GE‘s government relations personnel, GE Energy personnel in China, the Renewables & Jenbacher Marketing teams and the Platform Leaders to review and understand pending legislation and regulations.
Help Platform Leaders and other business leaders interpret how regulation and policy may affect product placement, design, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years local professional experience.
Minimum 2 years experience in Renewable Energy or Energy Policy.
DESIRED:
MBA or other advanced degree in related field.
GE Program graduate, RELP or eCLP preferred.
Previous experience in Renewable or Energy Policy.
Analytical skills to evaluate needs/opportunities, understand business challenges, and link with policy considerations.
Strong negotiation and relationship building skills. Proven negotiation experience a plus.
Self-starter, results oriented, with a passion for Renewable Energy.
Skilled with interacting and communicating with all levels, internal and external.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong presentation skills at all levels of the organization.
