| Job Description: This position supports the Hitachi GST Enterprise Information Warehouse (EIW) , which includes Business Information System (BIS) and SAP Datawarehouse (SAPDW). EIW is multi-faceted collection of IT solutions including Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, Master Data Management and an Application layer supporting internal business processes in Finance, Sales, Pricing, Supply Chain and others. EIW uses Hyperion (Oracle) Essbase and Brio, IBM DB2, DB2 Warehouse Manager and Alphablox, Websphere and Java running on IBM pSeries (AIX) servers. EIW has a large world-wide user population with a multi-national technical support team that is undergoing a major restructuring. The new EIW technical support team will be headquartered in Silicon Valley in the US with support teams in China and a 3rd contract location, to be determined. Responsibilities: -Team Lead Role (50%): Overall responsibility for the EIW technical support team in China, which will provide production support, operations and development services. -Developer Role (50%): Participate in direct technical activities, as required to ensure successful delivery of all technical requirements of the overall team. -Must demonstrate competency in many of the same skills required of the technical team. -Focal point to both the US and contract location EIW Technical support teams (responsible for transition of all work into and out of the China technical team.) -Manage technical team to meet all production support expectations and schedules. -Provide Quality Assurance of all deliverables from the EIW Technical support team. -Coordinate resolution of production support issues in a timely manner. -Coordinate efforts related to trouble-shooting, fixes, root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate changes to ensure prevention of production support problems. -Ensure all change management and documentation requirements are met by the support team. -Work with Business Analyst and US Technical team to understand requirements and develop solution design -Work with EIW Architect to evaluate proposed solution design to ensure consistency with current technology, infrastructure and best practices. -Estimate effort, skills and infrastructure requirements -Identify and assess risk. -Create project plan and schedule. * Monitor and report status against project plan and schedule. -Identify and resolve project issues and risks. -Manage technical team to provide high quality solutions on schedule. Qualifications: -Strong Team Leadership skills, especially in a technical environment. -Strong Project Management skills. -Must communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management (demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills). -Very Strong English language skills. -Project Life Cycle Management competency. -Knowledge of Data Warehousing and BI Concepts. -Must work well in a Global team environment. -Must be results driven. -Essbase Application -DB2/SQL -UNIX -Essbase Administration -ETL (prefer DB2 Data Warehouse Manager and Informatica) -Minimum Bachelor Degree in IT related major. Masters preferred. -Minimum 5 yrs experience as developer. -Minimum 3 yrs experience as Project manager and/or technical team leader. -Work experience in multinational projects and support is required. -Project Management certification or formal course work in project management preferred. |
