| Business Area:Power 《b》Goals/Mission《/b》 The incumbent performs, manages, expedites and coordinates all required and necessary efforts relating to Sales activities, preparation of tenders and coordination of marketing activities in the China region, on PG I products - both individually or in a team as the process dictates. Incumbent assumes initial client contacts, does marketing activities & then specific project pre-sales strategy formulation, in tandem with the Area Sales Managers and subsequent participates in budget & firm bidding processes for successfully screened project. 《b》Tasks《/b》 Active participation in the process sales & marketing efforts to the market - by creative promotion of our product range offer to the market, coordinating the information flow with Siemens sales, technical and relevant departments, participate in unique & winning sales startegy definition. To establish new client network and also support/liaise/maintain these customer relationships. ( new & existing ones ) The responsibility encompasses consultants. Gathering & Analyse market information in terms of latest techology, improvements, competitors strengths and weaknesses, competitor pricing strategies and also available tenders and contracts - by personal networking with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities, governmental agencies, agents, media scanning, participation in exhibitions, seminars to obtain accurate, 1st hand information on the industry development. During budget offer preparation, incumbent coordinates & distributes important information ( from the specifications, where applicable ) for price formulation, sales strategies, selling on TCO values, performance calculations etc. As expected, the incumbent will be our direct contact with the client/consultants/EPC packager. Assess the reality of request for tender via direct contacts with the industry ie. Client, client‘s competitors, consultants, contractors, authorities or even other internal Siemens employess in region/country. Information obtained, together with others will be used bid no bid decison making. Uses economic modelling tools to compare competition and set target pricing. Provide information ( & prepare/particiapte as necessary ) for Screening of Projects ( & other info ) as required by the management review for a decision prior to a full bid preparation. Coordinate and support the Area Sales Manager in firm offer generation with respective marketing department in Finspong/Lincoln - on design, costing and scheduling issues to ensure our offer matches the client requirements and consultant/client issued specifications. Ensures firm bid clarification with Clients, local suppliers and consortium members runs accordingly with proper coordination and information distribution to relevant parties for proper and smooth discussions/meetings. Jointly makes decision with Negotation team members if additional resources or senior staff intervention is required during this period. Coordination and working on preliminary inquiries about power plants and equipment from various customers in the country - by participanting in meetings, clarification and presentation to client, Incumbent is expected to initiate meetings with relevant decision makers in the client‘s organisation, before specialist presentations from the regional support center is engaged. Preparation and conduct of general presentation on the Siemens Turbo Compressor product portfolio, develop contacts with clients, local partners, consultants etc. This covers public relations activities, executed in cooperation with both internal and external organisations i.e exhibition and seminars. To utilise, update and maintain any in-house database system i.e. Lotus Notes databases - by participation in providing information to ensure an up-to-date, accurate database. 《b》Knowledge/Languages《/b》 Engineering Degree with at least 8 years working in the power industry, of which 5 years must be in a Marketing & Sales Function with a proven track record. Post Graduate qualifications i.e. MBA or experience in Project Management advantageous. Conversant with general knowledge of the powerplant technologies and available concepts. Knowledgeable with Siemens industrial Gas Turbine range, open cycle, combine cycle, cogen concepts and related products. Very familiar with the local market for Power Generation & Industrial markets, its customers & competitors. Ability to use PC applications ( Word, Exel, Powerpoint, Outlook ). Able to use Siemens internal softwares ( Lotus Notes, OTMS, etc ). Ability to use external specialist engineering software would be advantageous ( Autocad, GTPro ). Able to work independently with good written and oral skills in English mandatory. Able to coordinate and communicate with colleagues with differing background in different locations. Familiar with the staff in country‘s marketing dept. ( ie. PG-I, PG-W ) Specialist technical knowledge in at least one area within the department ie. Process, Boiler. Ability to gather, filter & assess market information, related to competition for bid strategy and target pricing purposes. Familiar in finance, commercial terms and also NPV calculations. 《b》Experience《/b》 At least 8 years working experience in Power Plant field, of which 5 years are to be in a sales and marketing capacity & preferably have past responsibilities in profit & loss positions. Relevant post graduate qualification(s) advantageous. At least 8 years working experience in Power Plant field in Engineering or Project Management function with at least one area of specialisation for direct value adding pruposes to departmental activities. Able to work independently, as well as within a team later which requires excellent communication skills. Able to lead process of a sales, negotation or discussion as the situation requires it. Ability to work with or in a group or on individual basis with people of differing background, knowledge, levels in the company - in both technical ( engineering ), commercial & sales capacities. |
