IPR Specialist

Position Description:

The transition to innovation based economy in China creates both new opportunities and competitions for company. Company as a global thought leader need to better answer the challenges and catch the opportunities such transition brings to us. To achieve such objectives， we need to enhance our local understanding， grow our IPR portfolio in relevant technology areas and innovatively use our IPR asset in China. Active standard and technology development in China requires our special attention from IPR perspective to ensure that company is capable of maintaining an adequate share of the essential patents in the key standardization and technology
areas.

The proposed IPR Manager/Specialist would be located in Beijing to handle IPR issues related to China standardization activities such as essential patent declaration， IPR policy shaping of key Chinese SSO， IPR strategy planning for Chinese technology/standards critical to Company business. This role will also contribute to patent risk mitigation effort when China specific technology and/or standard understanding are needed.

The daily work would consists of， but not limited to:



Essential patent declaration to responsible Chinese Standards. Strengthening the thought leader image of Company by high quality declarations to Chinese SSO.


Process definition and improvement to better utilize global declaration effort to satisfy the specific need of Chinese SSO.


Participate Chinese SSO discussion to promote transparency in IPR domain such as clear and reasonable policy， public access to declaration and evaluation of essentiality.


Follow up China specific standard and technology development from IPR perspective， provide primary patent landscape understanding of responsible standard/technology areas.


Evaluation of patent portfolio development of China competitors and new active innovation areas relevant to Company business. Provide early alert and action proposal.

Qualifications Requirements:



Strong technical back ground in one of the following areas: radio technology/B3G/4G， Mobile TV/IPDC， Security and Internet protocols.


Suitable experience/exposure on IPR issues. Invention/patent experience and understanding of Chinese standardization will be a plus.


Capable of looking at a full picture， at the same time can identify and drill into the critical details to appropriate level.


Maintain positive altitude and innovative thinking under challenges and pressure.


Fluent in both English and Mandarin
