| Job Profile: Based in Shanxi Province Position Title: AgroFresh Account Manager Shanxi Province China Reporting to: Commercial Manager China Location: Xi‘an (preferred) (The candidate will be based at home) Primary Function 1. AgroFresh Account Manager Plan and implement sales to mayor accounts in the apple market, where cultivating relationships, identifying opportunities, and account management skills are essential. 2.Collet account receivables on time. 3.Establish and build strong client relationships over time that allow for continuity and ongoing representation reinforced by sales programs. 4.Supports sales management in development of sales strategies, helps identifying target accounts and opportunities within the framework of AgroFresh sales strategy. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The job‘s essential duties (those where you spend at least 5% of your overall time) As Account Manager Key for the Account Manager is the AgroFresh Apple business. Key roles will be: 1.Key Account management: Establish personal VIP contacts with leading customers. 2.Responsible for new business growth with existing customers and for seeking new large accounts. 3.Provide logistical Support to serve every application in ShanDong (outsourced services, end-users) 4.Organize pre-commercial trials on every new crop and country together with the Technical Manager. 5.Participate in the launch events and wrap up sessions and commercial information to our customers. 6.Reviewing existing product/market concepts and identifying opportunities for product improvement. 7.Plan how to establish and maintain major account relationships and meet sales targets. 8.Monitor competitor activity in each account and ensure that, with the support of Sales, Marketing and Technical Management, appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated. 9.Complete customers list in order to develop a strategy to reach the whole market quickly (direct mailing, sales meeting ...) 10.Negotiates with other internal departments, in order to agree on new product opportunities or developments. 11.Establish contacts with key influencers (advisers, retailers, importers, service providers, ...) 12.Monitor and follow up on customers‘ claims, problems (use the full knowledge of the Technical and R&D department), unpaid bills. The Account Manager can also be involved in the development and sales activities in small countries Starting date: Preferably as per 1. July, 2008.Office based (Preferred) Salary: in accordance with the importance of the position Expenses are compensated on declaration basis Perspectives:Account Manager in a fast growing and developing international company with career perspectives in China Candidate profile Experience: 1.5-10 years experience on post harvest industry or fruit trading. 2.Have common sense of sales and related fruit, vegetable market. 3.Highly effective interpersonal skills. 4.Working in an international environment. Minimum Knowledge, Education, and Experience Requirements 1.Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably (but not compulsory) in agronomy. 2.The candidate could come from a commercial position from an industrial company in post harvest (e.g. ULO/CA), supplying company to the apple growing industry, trade or fruit marketing company or any company in the value chain of fruits or vegetables. 3.English both written and spoken would be appreciated. Certifications/Affiliations Required 1.Bachelors or Masters degree Specific Skills Required 1.Personal skills: creative, flexible, self-confident, team player, enthusiastic and customer oriented. 2.Strong communication skills, ability to convince customers to adapt to new revolutionary techniques. 3.Strong commercial skills. Independence to reach set sales objectives 4.Focused on result and customer satisfaction. 5.Ability to manage and sell a technical service oriented product. 6.Team spirit to interface with the rest of the team. 7.Creativity to identify new opportunities. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. 8.Pro-active attitude and comfortable working in an international and dynamic organization Key Internal / External Contacts (Incl. With Whom, Why and Frequency) Direct reporting tot the Commercial Manager China (weekly basis, performance review..) Functional relationships with Technical managers, the other commercial managers and marketing. External contacts with opinion leaders, research institutes, Service providers, growers, packers, retailers and other end-users. Special Working Conditions (e.g. Temperature Extremes, Lifting, Noise) Frequent travels in Shanxi province Major or Most Important Decisions Made Independently Selection of key accounts and how they are handled. Types of Errors That Could Occur and Severity of Their Impact Incorrect approach and relationship with key accounts, jeopardizing the sales and the image of AgroFresh. Insufficient support to service providers leading to loss of sales. Deal with significant price differences world wide. Need interaction with retailers to create pull through. Keep focus in wide range of (potential) crops. May face shortage of personnel and budget to accomplish objectives. Reactions from pressure groups are possible (no post harvest treatments on edible crops). Deal with unexpected results/failures (e.g. unexpected physiological disorders) or gaps in efficacy. |
