Job description - Sourcing of local suppliers and factories, build up and further strengthen the China supplier network. - Evaluate material and parts suppliers in relation to quality, process control, capacity, delivery times etc - Keep the supplier database updated at all times with all relevant supplier information. - Recommend category sourcing strategy for approval of the Procurement council - Preparation of blanket contracts and approved price lists - Analyze and validate the material consumption forecast with end-users - Analyze historical price data in order to have a clear view of earlier used suppliers, sourced products, prices and quantities - Supplier evaluation and development - Continuously report progress of all suppliers quality related activities to the purchasing team in the head office - Price analyzes and preparation of price comparison tables in order to enable " item to item " price comparisons - In co-ordination with Sourcing Manager and concerned business units manage quotation, price negotiations and order placing - Together with the suppliers and engineers, take the new sourced products all the way through the sample, approval and production ramp up-stages - Locally support all orders placed to Chinese suppliers including following ongoing activities regarding tooling, production, quality, delivery schedules and logistics. - Develop policies and procedures to ensure common supplier related practices at all manufacturing locations. - Monitor consumption levels for items under blanket contracts and follow demand trends for these items - Review sourcing strategy for the categories who‘s contract periods has expired Requirements - - University degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Engineering - Extensive experience from advanced sourcing in an international environment - Experience from localization projects - Ability to build relationships with and to control major suppliers - Ability to read and understand technical drawings - Good knowledge about raw material and good experience in manufacturing processes of mechanical parts and construction material - Good command of written and spoken English - Good communication and coordination skills - Experience from working in a foreign company environment - Strong planning and analytical skills. - Knowledge about product quality systems such as ISO 9000 is an asset |
