Job Description 1.With the technical support from PSI regional researcher for Asia, oversee all research aspects and functions of PSI/China including research study designs, field work, data collection, analysis plans, data analysis, and dissemination. 2.Collaborate with program teams to design, modify and implement research plans for program monitoring, impact evaluation, product development, and marketing purposes. 3.Work closely with the research assistant and provide on-job training and coaching for him/her 4.Coordinate research agencies and sub-contractors and ensure that their deliverables meet PSI standards 5.Ensure that research outputs are disseminated timely with program staff and lead to meaningful recommendations to program team 6.Develop, maintain and routinely update research library to ensure adequate sharing of research resources internally 7.Ensure that all studies are interpreted to the program needs 8.Train and supervise facilitators, interviewers and other field researchers 9.Train PSI/China staff on PSI’s basic research framework and its roles in relations to planning, monitoring and evaluation 10.Deliver all assignments in a timely manner. 11.Other duties as assigned Qualification Criteria: Masters or higher degree in public health, marketing or relevant social sciences and/or significant related work experience. Demonstrated experience with quantitative and qualitative research design, methods, implementation, data management, analysis, and report writing – includes surveys, focus group discussions, and in-depth interviews Experience developing and implementing mapping exercises, marketing surveys, program evaluation, and management information systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English and Mandarin) Knowledge of internet use, Microsoft Professional software (Word, Excel, Access, email); with mapping and statistical analysis software preferred Strong management ability and organizational skills Experience supervising personnel Experience developing and managing budgets Proven familiarity with the social science research environment in Yunnan Province Interest in and experience working with marginalized groups and commercial markets Ability to work and travel occasional nights and weekends |
